In the 18-month Venus zodiacal cycle we are in the middle of her retrograde period, the point of surrender preceding the rebirth following her retrograde or inner transformation. We must die to be reborn as Nature shows every winter when all appears dark, bare, cold and barren.

Yet within the darkness the light, the seed, of renewal is glowing readying for its Spring rebirth. As we near the Spring Equinox on March 20th when the Sun enters Aries to begin again the journey from birth to death to rebirth, this year Venus and Mercury are also retrograde in Aries.

This gathering of the Sun, Mercury, and Venus (Mercury and Venus travel closest to the Sun) in Aries is a unique opportunity to bring our conscious mind (Mercury) and our open heart (Venus) to this 2025 rebirth of the Light. On March 31st Neptune will also enter Aries soon to be joined by Saturn moving into Aries on May 25th.

After the powerful gathering of planets in January and February in Pisces which is the last sign of the 12, we are being offered or are entering a dawning of life affirming freedom to be our truest, most glorious self (Sun) supported by a mind (Mercury) knowing who we truly are and a heart (Venus) full of loving joy for an expansive life.

Does this sound realistic or unattainable? Perhaps it has been unreachable in the past. It is extremely unusual to see this gathering in Aries which will not occur again for centuries. It is the opening to our full potential to be intelligently and lovingly expressing our passionate self in living passionately as we trust living honestly, choosing ongoing self-reflection to guide us to ever deeper awareness and understanding of what to do/to pursue, and choosing to do and be with loving, generous, supportive people in our chosen relationships.

This is the awakening of a Spring ready to birth the life you desire, the one you have dreamed of that may have felt far away or even improbable. This is a personal, interpersonal, and global rebirth. Humanity is ready for a whole new world. We each can begin now with who we are allowing ourselves to be, who we are choosing to be in relationship with, who we can and want to be in the world.

Venus retrograde is commonly thought to be a challenging period for romance, relationships and creativity which can be true. But the purpose of the retrograde period is to feel into the reality of all our relationships in order to love ourselves enough to say yes to those who meet us as we wish to be seen, supported and loved and to change or end relationships that we know are not healthy or cannot go forward with us where our lives are going.

This self-love, courage to see all relationships as they are which isn’t always what they were or what we thought they would be and to let go when we know it’s time. Refining our lives to be ever more loving, more alive, more passionate allows creativity to flourish, and synchronicity to bring new opportunity and new relationships.

After the first two weeks of Venus retrograde showed us what is true, we are now in the period from 3/16-3/29 when this 2 weeks is challenging us to act decisively/consciously with a caring heart to restructure our relationship with life. Then the final two weeks from 3/29-4/12 is “go time” to begin the renewed life we are now ready to live.
