The Death of Pope Francis – The People’s Pope – A Voice for the Aquarian Age

Apr 28, 2025 | There is a reason | 0 comments

Pope Francis gave his final blessing to the faithful on Easter Sunday. On the following day, Pope Francis passed from his physical form to his eternal rest. He was 88 years old having held the office and power of the Catholic Church for 12 years.

In his short papacy he became the beloved People’s Pope. As the first Pope from South America, the first Jesuit Pope and the first Pope to take the name Francis, he modeled his papacy after Saint Francis of Assisi. The life of Saint Francis was one of wealth, privilege, extravagance, a carefree life. Yet there was also a growing disillusionment in Francis that was revealed to him when a beggar asked him for alms prompting Francis to follow the beggar from the marketplace where Francis was selling fine clothes for his father. When Francis found the beggar, he gave him all the money he had in his purse enraging his father, startling his friends who mocked him for his charity.

After military campaigns, a year held as a captive, and an illness that led Francis to question his life, a vision led Francis home to Assisi where he began to contemplate a life of poverty. Later in Rome he received a mystical vision calling him to repair a chapel in disrepair near his hometown which he did offering gold to the priest at the chapel. This act of charity resulted in Francis giving up his inheritance and becoming a beggar, after which Francis devoted himself to a life of penance, poverty, love of all his brethren, chastity and service. Francis of Assisi embraced Nature, animals, all people in a heartfelt love and respect for their inherent dignity.

Pope Francis following the spiritual path of Saint Francis lived humbly in the Vatican guest house rather than in the more grand Papal apartments in the Vatican; eschewed the luxurious apparel (Prada shoes, gold cross) he was entitled to; washed and kissed the feet of the poor; championed bringing women into more visibility in the Church; spoke lovingly of the poor, the migrant, the refugee; spoke for the environment; and, powerfully, lovingly said “who am I to judge” when asked to judge anyone who sought God.

These qualities are also the essence of the now developing Aquarian Age – equality, equity, respect for the dignity of all life be it human, animal or the natural world, a profound love for all people, all of humanity.

The Astrological chart of Pope Francis reveals his generous heart, his devotion to truth, his commitment to true spiritual leadership by living it personally and globally (Sun in Sagittarius). The chart also reveals his Moon and Venus in Aquarius describing his voice for all of us in this entry into the Aquarian Age. Yet, Pope Francis did not alter the Church’s teachings on fundamental beliefs (his Mercury and Jupiter in Capricorn). Much of his life, his family history, his returning the Church to humble service to all was not easy (Saturn, Neptune, Pluto challenging his Sun or true self). His chart has many connections to Princess Diana’s chart who remains beloved as the People’s Princess.

Pope Francis died at his third Saturn return (ages 28-29, ages 58-59, and ages 88-89) indicating a completion of his life’s mission. His earlier Saturn returns shaped his future and his path to the Papacy. After a full 12-year Jupiter cycle as Pope, this Sagittarius man ruled by Jupiter with his Sun close to his birth Jupiter gave us his service, his heart, his love and his Aquarian voice to show us the way.
